Windows Server Simulation Software for BACnet Systems
If you're a developer of facility automation systems or controls who is developing BACnet communications software, chances are you've had a hard time finding BACnet equipment from other vendors to experiment with. Particularly if you're interested in newer object types or particular configurations that may be very hard to find. If you've looked at the BACnet standard, you know that even simple communications functions can present some daunting problems, and you probably don't have the time to become that much of a BACnet expert. You need a quick way to simulate other BACnet devices and focus on solving your development problems. You need BACsim™.
BACsim is the industry's first easy-to-use BACnet device simulator for Windows. BACsim runs under Windows 7/8/10 and Server 2012, and provides a robust set of basic simulator features tailored to the needs of BACnet designers and testers.
You configure an object database for BACsim using XML (actually CSML) descriptions of object property values based on the BACnet standard XML data modeling syntax. This can simulate standard BACnet objects such as Analog Inputs, Analog Outputs, Binary Inputs and Binary Outputs etc. All of the object types in the 135-2012 standard are supported.
BACsim provides a simple user interface that shows objects and their properties in a tree hierarchy similar to Windows Explorer.
Each property value can be set statically, or automatically ramped up and down between limits, simulating real activity using built-in "program objects."
You can also view incoming and outgoing message traffic with a built-in tracing feature that displays messages in hexadecimal form so you can see the actual encoding.
